Talking Clock for Blind Woman
"Thank you, Jesus," is all Ms. Bessie could say when she received her talking watch and clock from Forever Young. Being blind from diabetes, Bessie immediately stated her need for a clock when we visited her several weeks ago. Therefore, Jean, our treasurer, went on the Internet and found a talking watch and clock, so Bessie's need could be met.
When Bessie opened the packages she was so overjoyed she couldn't stop praising the Lord, and she told Forever Young that a bucket full of money couldn't make her this happy. Our new friend said she was going to burn up the telephone lines when we left so she could tell her friends what we did for her. Gratitude and love flowed from Bessie and now she wants us to do wishes for all her friends.
Update: A Forever Young volunteer donated her frequent flyer miles to Ms. Bessie, so she could fly to Chicago to visit her family for two months this summer. After flying for the first time, Mrs. Jones said, "I will never ride the bus again!" The wish keeps on going.
